What it means
The torque sensor sets itself to zero when the bike is switched on. If the pedals are pushed at that moment, the start-up check can fail.
Likely causes
- Pressing on the pedals while switching on
Symptoms
- Code 28 shows after switching on
- No or odd pedal assist
How to fix it
- Switch the bike off.
- Switch it on again without any weight on the pedals.
- If the code comes back, take the bike to your dealer or a Bafang service centre.

Usually cleared by a correct restart.
