Ride with caution. No assist; the bike can still be pedalled.
What it means
On RideControl Charge, the battery and event-code indicators blink 3 times and the code shows. Giant says that with code A1 power assistance stops; with any other event code assist continues. Giant does not publish what each code means.
Likely causes
- System fault (Giant does not publish detail)
Symptoms
- 'A1' on the Charge display
- No assist
How to fix it
- Note which indicator is blinking (or the message shown).
- Switch the system off.
- Look for an obvious cause, such as a battery not fully clicked in.
- Fix it only if you can do so safely, then switch the system back on.
- If it is fixed, carry on and book a service check with a Giant dealer.
- If the issue keeps returning, stop riding and contact an authorised Giant dealer.
