VanMoof error 40: Bell button pressed too long

What it means

Error 40 can appear if the bell button is held for a long time or pressed many times in a row. The code shows on the bike's matrix display.

How to fix it

1. Release the bell button and wait for the error to clear.
2. Make sure the bike has the latest firmware (VanMoof app).
3. Reset the bike.
4. Do a system restart (see VanMoof's 'How to System Restart' guide).
5. If the error stays, take the bike to a VanMoof Partner for diagnosis and repair.
