Giant (SyncDrive / RideControl) error LED4: Smart Gateway / remote / display error

What it means

On RideControl Go, LED 4 blinking red shows a problem with the Smart Gateway, remote or display. On Ergo/Ergo 2/ONE, LED 4 is 'not applicable'.

Likely causes

  • Control unit or display connection problem

  • Red blinking LED 4

How to fix it

  1. Note which indicator is blinking (or the message shown).
  2. Switch the system off.
  3. Look for an obvious cause, such as a battery not fully clicked in.
  4. Fix it only if you can do so safely, then switch the system back on.
  5. If it is fixed, carry on and book a service check with a Giant dealer.
  6. If the issue keeps returning, stop riding and contact an authorised Giant dealer.
